The FIA is an internationally recognised qualification from ACCA that provides both basic and advanced skills in accounting and finance.

The internationally recognised FIA Diploma from ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) opens up new opportunities for those wishing to pursue a career in accounting and finance. The programme is designed to be suitable for both beginners and those who already have experience. Each participant can choose the level that best fits their current knowledge and needs.

What does the FIA at KPMG Business Institute offer?

  • A practical approach: the course content is focused on real-life tasks and practical examples that reflect the day-to-day challenges in accounting and finance. Participants actively use their new skills right away during the learning experience.
  • Professional English and basic International Accounting Standards: Students have the opportunity to improve their professional English and become familiar with the basics of International Accounting Standards, which are often a requirement in various finance positions.
  • Flexibility: the FIA course offers levels suited to different levels of knowledge, from beginners to advanced learners, allowing each participant to start at the level that matches their current experience.
  • Comprehensive support: the KPMG Business Institute provides everything you need to successfully complete the certification – from registration, to study materials, to the exam itself.

As a licensed provider of CBE “on-demand” (computer-controlled exams), KPMG Business Institute allows you to take FIA exams (FA1, MA1, FA2, MA2, FBT, FFA, FMA) and other ACCA exams (BT, MA, FA, LW-ENG or LW-GLO) within the flexibility of your individual needs.

Further information about the programme and registration is available on our website, where you will also find the exam timetable.

What kind of jobs is the FIA suitable for?

With this qualification, you can work in a variety of accounting and finance jobs in small and medium-sized enterprises as well as shared service centres. After passing the exams, you will have an overview of financial and management accounting.

How long does it take to study?

From the first exam to the highest level, the study can be completed in one year, depending on the pace you choose. In fact, there is no time limit for studying.

Typically, students plan to take one FIA level per year, which they will complete in approximately 2 months.

During the course of your studies, once you have completed each level of study, you will receive the relevant certificates as proof.

Exams

Exams – Computer Based Exams (CBE) follow the completion of each course. Exams are held continuously throughout the year at a licensed CBE center, last two hours, and you will receive your results as soon as they are completed. A registration form with CBE dates can be found below. An ACCA registration number and ID card are required to take the exam.

Registration with ACCA as an FIA student is required before taking the first one, which includes an entry fee. We will be happy to advise and assist you with the administration of ACCA registration.

Ethics module - "Foundations in Professionalism"

“Foundations in Professionalism” is an online interactive ethics module that explains what it means to work professionally and ethically in an engaging way.
In order to obtain the certificate, the ethics module must be taken during the course of study, either before or after completing the individual exams. You only need to take the module once, regardless of how many levels of exams you have already achieved.

Study materials

We exclusively use BPP Learning Media materials for each course, which have ACCA Approved Content status. Throughout the course we use the BPP Course Notes, which contain theory and illustrative examples, and the BPP Practice and Revision Kit, where there are plenty of examples to practise on each topic.

Exemptions

You may be able to obtain exemptions for some subjects based on your previous undergraduate study in the subject area at an accredited university. To earn a certificate or diploma, you must pass at least one exam of that level and the Ethics Module.
