Get financial support for your training or retraining under the new national Skills for the labour market project.

The Skills for the labour market project is intended for both employed and unemployed jobseekers (not for self-employed persons).

The main objective of the project is to acquire new skills and competences that can help the applicant in career progression and improve their position on the labour market.

How to apply for a training grant?

• • Choose a course from our current range of open training courses
  • Fill in the form “Jobseeker’s application for placement in suitable employment” (if you are not registered with the Job Centre) and submit in person to any Job Centre, Social Affairs and Family Office or electronically on the Central Portal of Public Administration www.slovensko.sk or by post.
  • Subsequently, you must fill in the form: ‘Application for a training grant for jobseekers’ if you are employed or, if you are unemployed, the form ‘Application for a training grant for jobseekers’ and submit it at least 30 calendar days before the start of the chosen course at the relevant employment office in where you live. Together with this form, you also submit the “Training provider’s confirmation of training provision”, which will be filled in by us as the training provider.
  • If the application is approved, the Job Centre will enter into an agreement with the applicant and reimburse the course at 80% of the original course price (the approval of the grant is decided by the relevant Job Centre and is not a legal entitlement)
  • One applicant may be supported a maximum of twice under this project
  • duration of the project is planned until March 2026
